ABOUT ME

Nicolas Candela is a Miami-born, Atlanta-based director, writer, and editor drawn to character-driven stories about identity, ambition, and the desire to change. His work explores people caught between who they have been and who they hope to become, with an emphasis on emotional vulnerability, expressive imagery, and the relationship between music and storytelling.

A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design’s BFA program, Nicolas is continuing his graduate studies in Film and Television at SCAD Atlanta. His thesis film, Red Flag, follows a former top basketball draft pick attempting to rebuild his career and reconnect with his former agent. The project reflects his interest in intimate stories where the emotional stakes matter as much as the external goal.

Working across directing, writing, and editing, Nicolas approaches filmmaking through both performance and visual storytelling. He values collaboration with actors and crew, shaping an environment where ideas can develop into a shared vision. Alongside narrative films, he is interested in music videos and opportunities to bring a cinematic sensibility to creative and commercial projects.
